Mortgage rates return to record low
The benchmark 30-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 2.81% percent with an average 0.6 points / origination for the week ending October 15, 2020, down from last week when it averaged 2.87%, according to the weekly survey by Freddie Mac. A year ago at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 3.69% percent. The 15-year fixed fell to 2.35%.
